The Talentum UV/IR2 is designed to detect a wide range of fires, including those from hydrocarbon fuels (such as n-heptane), and flames and fires from methylated spirits. Its dual-sensor technology makes it a versatile flame detection solution.

How does the detector prevent false alarms?

The detector’s intelligent algorithm requires signals from both the UV and the dual IR sensors to be present simultaneously before triggering an alarm. This method provides the highest immunity to false alarms from sources such as solar radiation, arc welding, and lightning.

What are the power requirements for this flame detector?

The Talentum UV/IR2 operates on a supply voltage of 14 to 30 Vdc. The quiescent current is as low as 3mA, making it a low-power device suitable for a variety of fire and fault monitoring systems.

Is the Talentum UV/IR2 suitable for outdoor use?

Yes. The flame detector is built with a robust die-cast zinc alloy housing and has an IP65 rating, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor installations, including harsh industrial environments.
